The festival is located in the Volksgarten Salzburg, a riverside park at the south bottom of the Kapuzinerberg and is situated within walking distance from the old town in Salzburg. As parking in the Volksgarten is limited, we strongly recommend to use public transportation.
Arrival by bus or railway
Winterfest-ticket = bus ticket
The Winterfest-ticket is valid as bus ticket for the ride to/from the Volksgarten on all bus and railway lines in Salzburg. Every ticket is valid 4 hours prior to the event within the SVV travel region. The venue is accesible by bus no. 6, 7 and 10 – bus stop: Volksgarten.
You have to take your Winterfest-Ticket with you at all time. A subsequent submission will not be accepted.
Arrival by car
Traveling to the Volksgarten Salzburg from inside Austria take the A1 or A10 autobahn (exit Salzburg Nord), or drive in from Germany on the A8 (exit Salzburg Süd).
Note for users of navigation systems: Please enter “Hermann-Bahr-Promenade” or “Hundertwasserallee”.
Unfortunately, parking spaces in the Volksgarten Salzburg are limited and during ice hockey games in the Volksgarten Arena not available at all. Please note that the parking is subject to charges. By validating the parking ticket at the cloakroom, our visitors are benefiting from a reduced rate.
If you park at Mönchsberggarage (20 minutes within walking distance to the venue), get your parking ticket validated at the cloakroom and profit from a reduced rate (up to 4 hours: € 4,- / up to 8 hours: € 6,-).
